・Look up at a map above the automatic ticket vending machine, find your destination, insert bill or coins and push a button displaying the charge for your destination.
・It is convenient to carry IC card (Suica or Pasmo) with you, because it can be used to pay for almost all other public transportation or shopping establishments.
→IC card can be bought at JR East train stations or automatic ticket vending machines. (JR West train stations use an IC card called ICOCA.)
→When you are buying an IC card for the first time, pay 1,000 yen. That includes a deposit of 500 yen.
→When the amount stored in your IC card gets smaller, you can charge it at automatic ticket vending machines.
